Dear Dotsie,
|
November 15, 2008
""Everyone has a purpose in life--a unique gift or special talent to give to others." by Deepak Chopra
The
above quote is a gentle reminder that baby boomer women have unique
gifts and special talents we give to others on a daily basis. During
this month of giving thanks, how about taking time to be thankful for
our individual gifts that serve as our life purpose? Then, give thanks
for others who share their gifts with us. It's what makes the world go
'round.
I'm excited to share a new partnership that was confirmed this week. The National Association of Baby Boomer Women partnered with More Magazine, the nations leading magazine that celebrates women 40+. More and the NABBW
share similar missions that empower women at midlife to live their best
lives. Going forward, women who join the association will receive a
FREE annual subscription to More. Once a member, all you need to do is fill out the link that will arrive in your "welcome" email.
We are excited to be doing our part to help save the environment by offering a F-R-E-E and open to the public teleseminar in December called, I'm Dreaming of a Green Christmas (complete details below) with our own NABBW expert, Diane MacEachern. Make sure you record the call-in information! Please note our Featured Associate, Barbara Freisner, who has just launched LifeTalks.
This great program helps baby boomers open the doors to meaningful
conversations with their aging loved ones regarding difficult topics.
Our Relationship Expert, Judith Sherven, PhD is offering a comprehensive program, "Overcoming the Fear of Being Fabulous."
She and her husband, Jim Sniechowski, PhD, are a best selling
psychology team who has created a 12-CD program to help you dig deep in
to the deepest source of what's holding you back AND guide you into
your personal freedom so you can live your rightfully fabulous life.
Now
it's time to relax with your favorite drink and get caught up on all
things boomer women. Have a blessed Thanksgiving with your loved ones.
And now, onward with grace!
Blessings, Dotsie Bregel www.boomerwomenspeak.com www.nabbw.com |

of herself but can't always squeeze it in because she's so busy caring
for any of the following: her husband, mother, father, children,
grandchildren, in-laws, neighbors, friends, colleagues, etc. Won't you
please help her out by sharing this newsletter and the NABBW with her?
Thank you for connecting, encouraging and supporting boomer women. May we all be enlightened, educated and empowered! __________________________________________________________________________________

Barbara Friesner www.AgeWiseLiving.com
Barbara
became a Generational Coach the way so many people do - as a result of her own
personal experience. For more than 25
years, Barbara has been a caregiver - first for her grandmother for many years,
and for the past 16 years for her mother, who now has very advanced
dementia. In the beginning, Barbara
struggled to get them to do what was in their best interest. Once she "broke the code" and realized that a
lot of her struggles were because of generational differences, she was able to
get her grandmother and mother to willingly do what's in their best
interest. Soon friends were calling for
advice, then friends of friends, and then total strangers. About 9 years ago, Barbara realized she was
on to something! So she started
AgeWiseLiving™ to help others so they wouldn't have to go through the emotional
turmoil she went through.
Barbara
works only with the family members - usually the caregiving Baby Boomer
daughter. She helps them know what to
do and how to communicate effectively
so their aging loved ones will actually do
what's in their best interest. If sibling
issues are a problem, Barbara also coaches her clients on how to get their other
sibs to help - or at least to not sabotage the process. Since all work is done by phone, Barbara works
with family members all over the world. If siblings want to work together, they work via a conference call.
Her
"Life Talks" quick start program has been a huge success for families
who want and need to talk with their aging loved ones - and want to do
it now! The "Talk With Your Aging Parents Now" quick start
program includes, among lots of other things, 5 Golden Key pre-recorded
seminars that helps them understand who their aging loved one is and
what makes them tick and a one-hour private Generational Coaching
session where they learn who their aging loved one is as an individual
and how to appeal to them as a unique individual so not only will they
do what's in their best interest, they'll actually think it's their
idea!
For family members who want a more hands-on approach, Barbara also offers an 8-week "boot camp" called "How To Be Your Own Generational Coach".
This program includes, among other things, 8 weekly "live"
teleseminars, 8 weekly one-on-one Generational Coaching sessions, and The Ultimate Caregiver's Survival Guide.
Both this program and the "Talk With Your Aging Parents Now"
quick-start program, also include unlimited 90-minute group
Generational Coaching sessions.
Barbara is also a published
author. "Most people wait to help their aging loved one because they
don't know how or where to start and/or what to do each step of the
way. That's why I wrote The Ultimate Caregiver's Survival Guide
workbook. I want people to know what to do and how to do it so family
members can calmly and successfully help their aging loved ones make
difficult decisions."
With more than 150 pages, The Ultimate Caregiver's Survival Guide
is a complete, step-by-step blueprint that includes all the necessary
elements -- worksheets, checklists, examples, instructions, and tips -
so they can successfully address the whole spectrum of eldercare issues
-- including sibling issues -- in a step-by-step, easy to follow
process! As an added bonus, every workbook comes with the 3 CD boxed
set AgeWiseLiving
Expert Series. The set includes
interviews with an Elder Law expert, a Personal Financial Planner, and
a Family
Relationship expert. And, since many families are struggling to help a loved one with dementia, Barbara created the Is It Simple Forgetfulness or the Real Thing
CD. This CD covers such topics as what dementia is - and isn't, other
causes of increased forgetfulness, how to communicate with someone with
dementia, how to keep them independent longer, and how to successfully
transition them into a memory care community. This program is also
available in downloadable format as well as in transcript format.
Barbara publishes a free monthly newsletter (sign up at www.AgeWiseLiving.com) and conducts free monthly teleseminars on important eldercare issues. In addition, using the skills she honed as the Director of Education & Development for the Loews Corporation and Dean of Loews University,
Barbara speaks to groups from 10 to 10,000 on how to resolve eldercare
issues by choice, not crisis. She is also an adjunct professor at
Cornell University. When not taking care of her AgeWiseLiving clients,
Barbara loves to spend time with family and friends, hike, knit and
enjoy the peace and tranquility on her daily walks in Central Park.
