How many times does a person have to remodel a perfectly beautiful home? My none sister has overhauled her entire home now four times from celing to floor and there was no reason for it. My BIL has filed for divorce. He is sick of her affliction, he says she is nuts and I have to agree silently to myself.

Chatty, I believe this is called "retail therapy." An urge to buy something to make one's self feel better.

My maternal grandmother was a shopaholic. When she moved to a nursing home and my mother and aunt had to help her clean out the house, they discovered all sorts of "stuff" that she had bought over the years, much of it never used and still bearing the tags from the shop.

Obsessive redecorating sounds to me like it is a similar thing.

I was always amazed how some people can afford to remodel a place to make it look right/stylish... not just knock down walls or correct it by adding more storage, etc.

I guess I'm pragmatic: grateful just to have a clean, quiet home that's warm and inviting.

I never have striven to keep up with either trends or the "Jones"
My home is clean and we eat well.I take note of the era my home was built in choosing furniture not what is currently in the stores.I do use up to date fabrics and any time saving goods...
I garden and keep my God's acre as beautiful as nature allows..

Those who have built a home then moved to build another and then another are here beside me..buying up plots farmers sell . one family are on their fifth new build. That is their lifestyle..

I prefer a poetry book to to a new lampshade/vase/whatever

I am a person who hates moving. I would rather fix up the home I am in at the time. I will probably be carried out of this home on a gurnee to the undertakers. That will be my final move!!!
