Thanks Chatty. I'm enjoying this "sanctuary".
I just realized that I forgot to leave four words. Hmmm. That's harder than writing a poem!
tender, footsteps, beach, storm

I'm sad to report that the new norm, seems to be starting a forum STORM.
I try so hard to never preach, walking the walk like sand upon a BEACH.
Maybe its because we're all the same gender, That our feelings get hurt, and we're all so TENDER.
When I am sad, I want to eat, something sweet, a little treat.
I head for the kitchen to cook nut crepes, yes, the sounds you here are my FOOTSTEPS.
Words: alley, thunder, sparrow, puzzle

Chatty, what an appropiate poem. And you were able to get it together. You go girl!
alley, thunder, sparrow, puzzle
Lightening struck, and the thunder rolled Slanted rain poured; wind, gusty and cold. Animals seeked shelter in bushes and alleys, As the noise resounded between hills and valleys.
In the warmth of my home I was sitting, working on puzzles, and knitting. Not thinking of the poor animals in peril, When on my window sill hopped a tiny sparrow.
I opened the window to let him in, From the rain and the crashing bin. When behind followed a robin and doe, A skunk, rabbit, and a sopping hobo.
“Come on in!” I cried with glee. “We will celebrate a happy dry party!” I got raisins and seeds, and hay to lie down, The storm passed, they said thanks, and left without a sound.
New words: names, people, stars, hollywood

Oh gosh, I'll give it a try!
Alley Thunder Sparrow Puzzle
Gently canter down the alley Towards the green valley
Ancient oaks we are under Flying on hooves of thunder
Halting on the open lawn Across the field a fawn
My steed stomps and snorts Sounding off his report
Awakening a resting sparrow Skirting the wild yarrow
Trotting the evergreen puzzle Compassed by a gentle muzzle.

That poem 'bout oak trees, acorn fruit, and cold weather prediction, As I said then, 'tis here now, White flakes are falling fast. I knew it would and sure enough it did, Winter has come to pass, Snow covers the leaves, snow covers the ground, And snow covers all of the grass. New York's first snowfall, has fallen now, It happened November 10th, Far as I'm concerned, it'd be just fine, If that snowfall was the last!

Somehow we missed Edelweiss2's words:
names, people, stars, hollywood
I've seen Dollywood but haven't been to Hollywood, West Coast people, I never see, Big screen stars with famous names, Seem so far out of my league.
New words: Helmet, woods, analyse, lonesome

Helmet, woods, analyse, lonesome
I place my helmet on the ground To find myself so lonesome My girl should be here next to me I'm sad she could not come
I stand alone here in the woods My bike, my only comp'ny A tear falls gently down my cheek For all that surely should be
To analyze the pain I feel Is harder now than ever I lost her just the other day I'll miss her 'til forever
I saved the emblem from her bike On the horrid day A drunk man swerved carelessly And took my girl away
rub, after, glove, final

Edelweiss, I loved that poem - the skunk made me chuckle.
This thread is awesome! I feel exhilarated when I come here and read these poems and feel the creative energy flowing through here. Thank you...I've needed sanctuary, I would never have imagined that I could find such enriching solace in a thread where we create poems using other people's words.

Sunday my Alex Sat still on my lap Watching sweet Tinkerbell We snuggled and clapped
After the movie Did finally end He lay on his tummy And reached for my hand
I rubbed his sweet back And I sang him a song His weary eyes closed – but Not for long!
As quick as a twinkle He leapt and he ran And danced through the house With my gloves on his hands
Laughing and chasing Around and around We ran out of steam And fell to the ground
And then he surprised me With a sweet slurpy kiss Filling my heart With wonder and bliss.
wonder, wander, why, whimsy
