The man said, this,
The man said, that,
I believed all his hip hop,
Junk, and nonsensical rap.

While we dated,
Beau was sweet and kind,
He was gentle as a lamb,
And oh so very fine.

So when he popped the question,
I had to say yes.
Who knew I was being conned,
Stead of being blessed.

His charms faded fast,
Love, it didn't last.
Affection died,
And so I cried.
Marriage number one,
went bye, bye,
It's been years and years,
Since I've even seen the guy!

Wonderful quote from Goethe, Edelweiss3 - and living in Germany, I'm sure you can feel his presence in so many ways. I visited his house and have been inspired in my writing ever since. He also had brilliant words touting the joys of opera - 'Music begins with the words.' Being an opera buff and former musician, that means a lot to me!

Chatty,
I know what you mean. I'll pray for a resolution for your situation. Methinks you need a break!

Oh jabber, me thinks I need a hit man...

HIT OR MISS

I wanted to hire a professional hit man,
to rid me of my ex as only they can.

I looked and searched the magazine pages,
but was shocked when I asked them about their wages.

Feeding my loser ex is so much cheaper,
and if I can drive him crazy he might become a leaper.

We have high buildings here that would do the trick,
I keep telling him to decide, to take his pick.

Climb way up high and don't look down,
take a flying leap and plummet to the ground.

I promised him he'd have a proper funeral,
a shovel and a blotter is what's needed for his burial.

I decided to plant his remains under my house,
so he could stay close to me, the mouching louse.

Would I really do it, if on no toes I would trod,
Yep, sure word, if I could get the nod from God...

HELP!!!!

Thanks Erica. I have to admit, I've never read any of Goethe's books;....another thing on my to do do list when I retire. Have you?

Chatty my dear,
It just ain’t right.
Because of your generous soul
You can’t say, “Go fly a kite.”

You can’t pack his bags, and shove him out the front door.
You can’s say “Git! You couch potatoe, you old boar!”
Instead you suffer inside and out,
Instead you endure life’s crazy rout.

There must be something inside you so very good,
For you to suffer, just so the x gets his food.
It’s in your nature to give, even at your own cost.
In you is a caregiver, angel, and mother not lost.

Roll these traits all into one,
And to top it off, you are a son of a gun.
Keep your spunk, chatty, that carries you through,
Some day sometime, I know you will earn what is due!

You're welcome, Chatty. I've not only read Goethe's "Werther" but was so inspired by it that I wrote a screenplay adaptation. The story is deeply moving, and it was his first youthful endeavor, creating a worldwide sensation and putting him on the literary map. It's only about 127 pages, so you wouldn't have to wait until you retire to read it!

Thanks for the thank you Erica but alas it does not belong to me as Edelweiss is the one who wrote a comment to you about Werther.

Edelweiss, your poem as heartfelt and appreciated though it may be,
shows you think me so much better than I could ever be.
HUGS!

Just yesterday I saw a beautiful little rose,
I held it up and smelled it with my nose.

Then across the lane I saw a dafodil,
admired it until I had my fill.

Went around to another table to see,
what other beautiful flowers were there for me to see.

I just love to visit the Star Nursery'
they have a selection one wants to smell and to see.

If only the ground here were moist, fertile and lush,
I'd buy a dozen or more purple, and fragrant lilac bush.

But alas in the desert about all you'll ever see,
are the fast growing, gorgeous pink, red & white Oleander Tree.

Oh don't get me wrong we have other flowers that grow,
but the heat of a single day can kill faster than the coldest snow.
